Die “Choppa” aus dem California Custom Shop von Luxxtone ist schon ein scharfes Gerät. Jerry Bison und sein Team stellen auf der Basis klassischer Gitarrenformen hochwertig verarbeitete, extrem cool gestaltete und innovativ ausgelegte Spitzengitarren her.

Auf den ersten Blick erinnert die Luxxtone irgendwie an eine Charvel, die -ebenfalls auf dem Strat-Design aufbauend- mit Floyd Rose Tremolo und einem schlanken Ahornhals kompromisslos auf “Vollgas” ausgelegt ist.

Hochwertig verarbeitet ist die Luxxtone allemal, die echt hohen Jumbobünde sind sauber in das Ahorn-Griffbrett eingearbeitet und bedurften im Rahmen unserer Plek-Optimierung keiner Abrichtung, lediglich den deutlich  zu rund eingestellten Hals und das Tremolo haben wir korrigieren müssen. Der Baked Maple-Neck ist nun hervorragend spielbar.

Mit einer HSS-Konfiguration ausgestattet, klingt die Luxdtone mal druckvollrockig oder bluesy oder funky, aber immer lebendig und dynamisch. Erle-Body und Mapleneck sorgen für ein ausgeprägtes Mittenspektrum, das  sich im Bandkontext sicher bestens präsentieren wird. Der optische Gesamteindruck der Gitarre ist hervorragend, das helle Finish und das anodisierte Pickguard passen perfekt zusammen. 

Diese Luxxtone ist eine dicke Empfehlung für Heavy Rocker, die ein ganz außergewöhnliches Pferd im Stall haben wollen. Der Zustand der 2015 gebauten Gitarre ist übrigens ganz hervorragend.
